Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet of dried, sinking pellets or flakes as well as frozen food for best color and condition. Wild specimens may take longer to accept dried food.

Male- 2” Female- 1.5”
Minimum Tank Size: 15 Gallons for a pair. Multiple pairs require more space.
Temperament: Semi-aggressive. Best kept with a small, south american schooler such as tetras or dwarf pencilfish

Nitrate: under 30ppmGeneral Notes: Ideally kept as a pair. Provide a small cave for spawning. Prefers sand substrate for sifting. Provide lots of cover to encourage the fish to come out as they can be shy. Providing leaf litter will increase the natural feel of the tank as well as provide tannins and soften the water, both of which are greatly beneficial for the fish. We will include an adequate sample of Bob's Cichlid Crunchies in order to make your acclimation process go smoother.
